Course Material: Raz-kids

The RITA learning model is exclusively developed by an Education Doctor from University of Nottingham and the Protostar Education teaching and research team, specifically designed for Protostar courses.

"RITA" is an acronym composed of the first letters of Raise questions, Interaction, Task extension, and Assessment, representing the core elements of this learning model.

The "RITA" learning method forms an efficient learning cycle of "pre-class ➤ in-class ➤ after-class ➤ stage ability assessment ➤ identify gaps ➤ advance to higher levels", which will run through the entire learning process of students at Protostar.

Step-by-Step Analysis of "RITA"

Raise Questions

Raise Questions
Pre-Class Preview

The Program is divided into two categories: Fiction and Non-fiction. For Fiction, students need to understand from the preview materials who the story is about, where it takes place, and what happens. For Non-fiction, students need to learn three things or facts from the preview materials.

Interaction

Interaction
Native Teacher Teaching

Our real native teachers from the UK, the USA, Canada, and Australia use an engaging and effective interactive teaching method called OPEC when interacting with young learners. Each reading book is taught over three lessons (A + B + C).

Task Extension

Task Extension
After-Class Follow-up

Each book comes with exclusive extension assignments in various forms such as videos, voice recordings, drawings, and handicrafts to extend and expand the application of textbook content, enhance interest, and includes dedicated class teachers for evaluation, correction, and answers

Assessment

Assessment
Stage Evaluation

Each level of Star Selection courses is assigned two level assessments, based on the USA CCSS standards as an outline, corresponding to US elementary school English proficiency levels, as well as the corresponding vocabulary and Lexile reading values, to determine whether students can enter the next level of course study

Class Monitor Evaluation
Good day Niki, I love your glasses! You look amazing in them. I'm sure your eyes will feel better with them on. We have read several books this week. First, we finished our books about time and discussed their meanings in class. Since each book was different, we talked about what they had in common and what was different. Today we also began the book World Holidays in class. This book discussed some of the holidays which are celebrated around the world. We discussed Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanzaa, Holi, and Chinese New Year. We also talked about the different traditions we each have for Christmas. It sounds like your Grandpa makes Christmas lots of fun! Your Elsa music ball was lovely! What you did well: You read with excellent expression and very good pronunciation. You also demonstrated good comprehension of the story. What you can improve: We will continue to improve the pronunciation of the words: Kwanzaa, Holi, Hannukah, and Mkeka. To help with this, I will leave a short pronunciation video in the classroom chat. How to practice: Use the video to practice the Story words. They are new and have advanced spellings. I encourage you to read the book while listening to it. Excellent job today Niki! Warm regards, Teacher Evonne
